## Why it matters

The New Zealand Tax Conference is Chartered Accountants ANZ's flagship annual tax event for New Zealand practitioners, running each November, with the 2026 edition on 19-20 November in Wellington alongside an online stream. Ministers of Revenue have used past editions for set-piece speeches, including David Parker's first public speech in the role in November 2020. It is the main CA ANZ conference dedicated to New Zealand tax, sitting alongside the institute's largely online audit and accounting conferences.

## Who attends

New Zealand chartered accountants in public practice and business, tax advisers and tax agents, with dedicated New Zealand jurisdictional sessions alongside the Australian programme.

## Programme

- Income tax and GST updates
- Fringe benefit tax and international tax
- Tax avoidance and governance
- Inland Revenue policy and recent legislative change
- Tax implications of emerging commercial structures and transactions
