The five best debtor management apps for Xero in Australia in 2026 are Paidnice, CreditorWatch Collect, Chaser, ezyCollect and Kolleno, ranked on Xero App Store review evidence and on whether the app applies the late fee your contract allows. Prices from A$99 a month.
Paidnice suits an Australian business on Xero that wants contractual late fees applied per customer group. CreditorWatch Collect suits an owner who wants human callers chasing alongside the software. Chaser suits a team that wants credit checks in the same tool. ezyCollect suits AU mid-market teams with several ERPs. Kolleno suits order-to-cash teams that also hold a Xero entity.

An Australian invoice is paid 6.0 days late on average. The reminder email is the part every app covers. The difference between them is whether the invoice terms carry a consequence and whether the app enforces it. This page ranks five apps on Xero App Store evidence, published price, and whether the app raises the late fee your contract allows.
Apps are ranked on whether they raise a late fee on the Xero ledger, set rules per customer group, publish an AUD price, their Xero App Store rating and review count, and whether they also run reminders, statements and payment plans, in that order. Satago lists on the Australian Xero App Store at 4.93 from 92 reviews but is left out because it publishes no AUD price and its credit data and invoice finance are built for UK companies.
Best debtor management app for Xero Australia
Paidnice is the best debtor management app for Xero in Australia in 2026 for a business between A$1m and A$20m that wants contractual late fees per customer group from A$99 a month. CreditorWatch Collect is the pick for owners wanting human callers.
Australia has no general statutory interest rate on an overdue business invoice, so the right to charge a late fee comes from the terms the customer agreed to. An app that only sends reminders leaves the clause as words. An app that raises the fee in Xero turns it into a receivable.
Of the five apps here, Paidnice and Chaser raise a late fee themselves. CreditorWatch Collect and ezyCollect document no late fee or interest function in their help material. Kolleno publishes no evidence of one. That row does most of the ordering, and review evidence breaks the ties.
The Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman describes the escalation ladder as friendly reminders, informal negotiation, a letter of demand, then a collection agency. Every app below covers the first rung. The ranking rewards the ones that add leverage before the ladder reaches a lawyer.
Debtor management apps for Xero compared: the table
Paidnice and Chaser are the two apps here that raise a late fee themselves. CreditorWatch Collect and ezyCollect are the Australian incumbents built around reminders, calls and collection referral. Kolleno is a London-based order-to-cash platform.

1. Paidnice
Best for Australian businesses on Xero or QuickBooks Online, A$1m to A$20m, that want the late fee in their terms enforced
What is it best for?
For an Australian business on Xero that wants contractual late fees, statement interest, reminders and statements run per customer group without a person doing the arithmetic.
- Fits
- Businesses on Xero or QuickBooks Online from about A$500k turnover, sweet spot A$1m to A$20m
- Regions
- Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, United States, Canada, South Africa
- Entry cost
- A$99/mo on Essentials, 150 invoices, 600 emails, up to 2 team members; Pro from A$139/mo with unlimited users; no contracts or lock-ins.
- Rated
- 5.0 from 83 reviews, 100% five-star · Xero App Store listing; 4.9 from 14 on Capterra; 4.7 from 29 on Trustpilot
- Awards
- 2025 Xero Global and Australian Small Business App of the Year; winner, New Zealand Small Business App of the Year, Xero Global App Awards 2026
- Runs on
- Xero, QuickBooks Online, Stripe, Pinch Payments, HubSpot, Pipedrive, Zapier; NetSuite, Sage Intacct, MYOB and Dynamics 365 Business Central on the Custom plan
- Contractual late fees
- Yes. Invoice late fee per overdue invoice and statement interest per customer, flat or percentage, raised on the ledger as Draft or Approved
- Does best
- Runs a different late fee policy for each customer group at the same time, and nets the charge against any credit on the account
Paidnice is the enforcement layer on top of Xero: reminder sequences per customer group by email and SMS, statements on the schedule you set including consolidated parent accounts, payment plans, prompt payment discounts, escalations, and a customer payment portal. On the Pro plan and above, reminders send from the business's own authenticated domain.
The late fee machinery earns the top place on an Australian ledger. Two charge types can run on the same customer group: an invoice late fee per overdue invoice, and a statement interest charge against the whole overdue balance. Each policy sets its own rate, debt age limits, tax treatment and income account, and the charge is raised in Xero as Draft or Approved.
Xero users have asked Xero itself for this since 29 March 2012. The request to add interest to late invoices on the Xero product ideas board carried 1,112 votes in September 2026, and Xero's last response, on 7 July 2025, called it early days. Customers report they cut their average wait for payment in half, within 30 days.
Limitations with Paidnice. It only reaches a business whose ledger is Xero or QuickBooks Online.
- MYOB, NetSuite, Sage Intacct and Dynamics 365 Business Central are a Custom-plan build, so an Australian MYOB business cannot buy the entry tier.
- There is no bureau credit check and no human calling service. The AI Credit Controller that reads replies and drafts responses is in beta, with human approval before anything sends.
- Capterra reviewers describe initial setup as "still a bit clunky and not intuitive enough", and one asked for bulk late fee removal.
2. CreditorWatch Collect
Best for Australian owners who want human callers chasing debtors alongside the software, price by quote
What is it best for?
For an Australian or New Zealand business on Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks that wants reminder workflows plus a call queue, or NZ-based callers doing the chasing on its behalf.
- Fits
- Not published. The trial covers up to 50 debtors; larger ledgers move to a sales-assisted Custom plan
- Regions
- Australia, New Zealand; also listed on the US Xero App Store under its former Debtor Daddy slug
- Entry cost
- Not published. The vendor's pricing page shows a free trial and a Custom plan only.

- 4.89 from 91 reviews, listed since December 2012 · Xero App Store listing; 4.5 from 13 on Capterra
- Awards
- None found
- Runs on
- Xero with a 24-hour sync and manual trigger, MYOB, QuickBooks; Zapier for everything else
- Contractual late fees
- None found. Nothing on the features page, help centre, FAQ or review-site feature lists
- Does best
- The human layer: a DIY Call Console on the higher tier and AR Specialists who phone your debtors, record the call and push notes back to Xero
CreditorWatch Collect is the former Debtor Daddy, founded in Christchurch in 2012, acquired by the credit bureau CreditorWatch in October 2022 and rebranded in March 2023. It runs email, SMS and call workflows per contact, with a manual-approval mode that previews the next reminder, statement reminders, and a portal where customers pay by card or schedule recurring debits.
The part no other app on this page offers is people. AR Specialists call on your behalf, typically one call then a follow-up at seven days, with disputes handed back to you. One-click escalation sends an undisputed debt over $500 to a collection or legal partner on commission. Its review base is the second largest here, and many reviews date from the Debtor Daddy years.
Limitations with CreditorWatch Collect. It cannot raise a late fee or interest charge, so a late payment clause in your terms stays unenforced unless someone raises the invoice by hand.
- No public price exists. Older third-party listings quoted tiers from A$89 a month by debtor count, but the vendor's own page now shows only a trial and a Custom plan.
- The Xero sync runs every 24 hours, and reviewers describe the interface as clunky to navigate. Review velocity has been near zero since 2022.
3. Chaser
Best for established teams that want credit checking and collections in the same tool, up to £4m turnover on the entry tier
What is it best for?
For a larger business that wants email, SMS and credit checks in one established platform, with a late fee rule applied globally and a managed chasing service available on top.
- Fits
- Entry tier capped at £4m turnover; tiers step to £10m and above
- Regions
- Global, UK-based; automated calls unavailable in New Zealand
- Entry cost
- £199/mo on Compact, 4 users, 4 schedules, 100 SMS and 100 call credits; Core £599/mo; Chaser Care managed chasing from £324/mo.
- Rated
- 4.98 from 374 reviews, listed since May 2015 · Xero App Store listing; 4.5 from 68 on G2; 4.9 from 45 on Capterra
- Awards
- Xero App Partner of the Year 2023
- Runs on
- Xero, QuickBooks, Sage 50, 200, Intacct and Business Cloud, NetSuite, Dynamics 365, AccountsIQ, SAP, HubSpot; 25+ systems
- Contractual late fees
- Yes. Fixed, percentage, daily percentage or base-rate types, recalculated daily, as one global rule that cannot vary by customer group
- Does best
- Multi-channel chasing with in-app Creditsafe credit reports and a Debitura collections hand-off in the same subscription
Chaser is the established, larger-business tool in this list, founded in the UK in 2014 and holding the deepest Xero App Store review base of any app here. Reminders go by email from your own Gmail or Outlook inbox, by SMS, by letter and by automated call. A per-customer portal takes payment through Chaser Pay and lets customers raise disputes.
Credit checks are in-app, carried out by Creditsafe, with a score, recommended credit limit and continuous monitoring. Debt collection is integrated through Debitura on a success-fee basis. For an Australian team the price is the point to weigh: it is published in pounds, tiered by company turnover, and the entry tier serves businesses up to £4m.
Limitations with Chaser. The late fee is one global rule, so a wholesale group and a retail group cannot carry different terms, and no fee is applied on payment-plan or partially paid invoices.
- Chasing on a payment plan follows the original invoice due date rather than the instalment dates, and Chaser's own documentation advises chasing those manually.
- Statements run monthly on a fixed day, and SMS, letters and calls beyond the credit allowance cost extra.
4. ezyCollect
Best for Australian mid-market teams on MYOB, NetSuite or Pronto as well as Xero, 200 debtors and up
What is it best for?
For a mid-market Australian finance team that wants credit insights, demand letters and a collection referral inside one order-to-cash platform, and can sign an annual contract.
- Fits
- Not published as revenue. ezyStart covers 200 debtors, 3 users and 1 workflow; ezyGrow 500 debtors; ezyScale 1,500
- Regions
- Australia, New Zealand; US via a collection partner
- Entry cost
- A$275/mo on ezyStart plus A$900 setup, annual contract, monthly billing adds 20%; ezyGrow A$950/mo.
- Rated
- 4.94 from 35 reviews · Xero App Store listing; 4.7 from 25 on G2; 4.9 from 12 on Capterra
- Awards
- None found
- Runs on
- Xero, MYOB AccountRight, Exo, Essentials and Acumatica, QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Dynamics, Sage 300 and Intacct, SAP Business One, Pronto Xi, Attaché, CSV
- Contractual late fees
- None found. Absent from the help centre and the 2026 relaunch material; card surcharging is the only added charge
- Does best
- Australian ERP breadth, with credit insights drawn from illion data and in-app demand letters at A$49 each
ezyCollect was founded in Sydney around 2014, acquired by Sidetrade in October 2025 and relaunched in July 2026 with an AI layer called AIMIE that recommends daily collection priorities. Reminders run as customer-level workflows with a pre-reminder and around six follow-up steps, consolidating overdue invoices per customer.
The platform covers the full order-to-cash path: monthly statements, payment plans, a SimplyPaid portal with card, direct debit and B2B buy-now-pay-later, demand letters, and a Send to Debt Collector referral to partners such as ARMA on commission from 25% of the recovered amount.
Limitations with ezyCollect. No late fee or interest automation exists anywhere in the help documentation, so the leverage in your terms is left to a manual invoice.
- The entry tier costs A$275 a month plus A$900 setup on an annual contract, with a 20% premium for monthly billing, and the payment gateway adds A$90 a month plus transaction fees.
- A customer who falls outside the workflow window receives no automated follow-up, and SMS, mail and fax are charged on top.
5. Kolleno
Best for order-to-cash teams on NetSuite or SAP that also hold a Xero entity, $1m turnover and above
What is it best for?
For a finance team whose hard problem is cash application and reconciliation across bank files and remittances, with Xero as one ledger among several.
- Fits
- BusinessPay from $1m turnover; Business Plus from $10m; Enterprise from $100m
- Regions
- Global, London-based
- Entry cost
- €650 per user a month on BusinessPay, €545 on annual billing; Business Plus €1,245 per user.
- Rated
- 5.0 from 18 reviews, listed since April 2022 · Xero App Store listing; 4.9 from 99 on G2
- Awards
- None found
- Runs on
- Xero and QuickBooks Online on the two lower tiers; NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Dynamics 365 and Sage Intacct on Enterprise tiers
- Contractual late fees
- None found on the pricing page, feature copy or help centre
- Does best
- Cash application: remittance parsing, bank file matching and multi-currency journal entries, with AI agents running collections and reconciliation
Kolleno is an AI order-to-cash platform founded in London in 2020. Reminders run as trigger-based workflows by email, SMS and call with conditional branches and auto-escalation, and a branded portal takes saved payment methods, recurring payments, credit notes and disputes.
Its depth is on the reconciliation side: email remittance parsing, bank file matching across BAI2, NACHA and ISO 20022, partial matches and FX differences. Three AI tiers ship with every subscription. The Xero connector sits on the two lower tiers alongside QuickBooks and Sage Intacct.
Limitations with Kolleno. Per-user pricing from €650 a month puts a three-person credit control function at roughly €1,950 a month before anything is chased.
- No late fee or interest feature is documented, so the leverage in your terms stays manual.
- The Xero App Store review base is the smallest here at 18, and the product has repositioned upmarket from SME credit control to enterprise order-to-cash.
Top debtor management apps Xero integration
All five apps connect to Xero, but they connect differently. Paidnice and Chaser write a late fee back to the ledger as an invoice; CreditorWatch Collect syncs once every 24 hours; ezyCollect and Kolleno treat Xero as one ledger among many ERPs.
The integration question that matters for debtor management is direction. Every app reads invoices, contacts and payments out of Xero. Fewer write anything back. Paidnice raises late fee and interest invoices in Xero as Draft or Approved and syncs escalation notes and call outcomes to the invoice. Chaser syncs late fee line items to Xero and marks invoices paid through Chaser Pay.
CreditorWatch Collect pushes call notes to Xero, but the sync runs on a 24-hour cycle with a manual trigger. ezyCollect writes cash application back to the ERP and syncs communication history hourly. Kolleno's connector covers Xero on its lower tiers, with deeper ERP work on enterprise plans.
Xero's own debtor tracking category and its accounts receivable collection list every certified connector for Australia, and the review counts there are the evidence this page ranks on.
Paidnice reviews from Australian Xero users
Paidnice holds 5.0 from 83 reviews on the Australian Xero App Store as at September 2026, every one five-star, with 4.9 from 14 on Capterra and 4.7 from 29 on Trustpilot. The single recurring criticism is setup friction.
The Australian listing returns the same 83-review figure as the NZ, UK and US listings, which points to one global review pool. The most recent visible reviews credit early-payment discounts and late-payment charges with improved cash flow, call the integration seamless, and say statement automation and late interest calculations saved staff hours.
On Capterra a finance manager wrote in April 2026 that average debtor days "have been reduced drastically". The negatives are specific: one reviewer found the interface "still a bit clunky and not intuitive enough" at setup, and another wanted a bulk late fee removal tool. No pricing, support or reliability complaint appeared in any review read. G2 could not be checked.
Xero named Paidnice its Global and Australian Small Business App of the Year in 2025, and its New Zealand Small Business App of the Year in 2026. Xero's own 2026 collection of top invoicing and jobs apps for Australia describes it as automating late fees and credit control.
ezyCollect reviews from Australian Xero users
ezyCollect holds 4.94 from 35 reviews on the Australian Xero App Store as at September 2026, with 4.7 from 25 on G2 and 4.9 from 12 on Capterra. Reviewers praise time saved and support; the complaints centre on price and add-on charges.
The Australian listing is smaller than the other incumbents here, 35 reviews against CreditorWatch Collect's 91 and Chaser's 374, and most review volume predates 2024. The praise is consistent: hundreds of hours saved each year, first-class support, and clear customer communication through the portal.
The criticism is about money. A three-star Xero App Store reviewer said the price quoted in the sales process was nearly three times the advertised figure. Capterra reviewers asked for a base allowance of SMS and fax, and one in March 2026 noted that some customers do not like the payment process. The July 2026 relaunch under Sidetrade is too recent for the reviews to reflect it.
What debtor management apps for Xero cost in Australia in 2026
Two of the five publish an Australian dollar entry price: Paidnice at A$99 a month and ezyCollect at A$275 plus A$900 setup. Chaser prints £199 and Kolleno €650 per user. CreditorWatch Collect prints nothing.
Kolleno charges per seat. Chaser steps by company turnover, so growth moves you up a tier whether or not the ledger got harder. ezyCollect steps by debtor count on an annual contract with a setup fee. Paidnice steps by invoice volume on a flat tier with no per-seat fee, from A$99 for 150 invoices to A$139 on Pro with unlimited users.
Whatever the subscription, the late fee row above changes the arithmetic. An app that raises the fee in your terms turns a cost line into a receivable. An app that only reminds leaves the fee as words on the invoice.
Common questions
The questions Australian buyers ask while shortlisting: whether a late fee can be charged at all, which apps raise one, what the escalation path looks like, and how the ratings should be read.
Can an Australian business charge a late fee on an overdue invoice?
Only where the customer agreed to it. The right comes from the contract terms rather than from a general statutory rate, so the clause has to be in the terms the customer accepted. Paidnice and Chaser raise the fee on the Xero ledger; the other three apps here do not document a late fee function.
Which debtor management app for Xero is best in Australia?
Paidnice, for a business between A$1m and A$20m on Xero that wants late fees, statements and reminders run per customer group from A$99 a month, rated 5.0 from 83 Xero App Store reviews. CreditorWatch Collect is the choice where you want human callers, and Chaser where you want credit checks in the same tool.
What should happen before an overdue invoice goes to a collection agency?
The ASBFEO ladder is friendly reminders, informal negotiation, a letter of demand, then a collection service that follows the ACCC and ASIC debt collection guideline on contact hours and conduct. Simple contract debts carry a six-year limitation period in NSW, Victoria and Queensland.
Are the Xero App Store ratings Australia-only?
No. Paidnice and CreditorWatch Collect return the same rating and count on their AU, NZ, UK and US store URLs, which points to one global review pool. Read the count as global evidence, and weigh a 4.98 from 374 differently from a 5.0 from 18.
Why does this page cover debtor management apps only, not every Xero add-on?
General “best Xero add-ons” lists mix payroll, inventory, expenses and reporting tools, and a debtor app gets one line among twenty. This page is scoped to the apps that chase, charge and collect on overdue Xero invoices, so the five can be compared on the questions that decide that purchase: late fees, escalation, statements and price.
What do the five cost?
Paidnice A$99; ezyCollect A$275 plus A$900 setup; Chaser £199 up to £4m turnover; Kolleno €650 per user; CreditorWatch Collect by quote.
