9 best Billtrust alternatives and competitors in 2026

Billtrust sells invoice delivery, B2B payments, credit, collections and cash application to large suppliers, on a quoted price with processing fees on top. These nine tools replace parts of it, and each one handles payments differently.

The best Billtrust alternatives and competitors in 2026 are Paidnice, BILL, Versapay, Upflow, Quadient AR, Gaviti, Invoiced, HighRadius and Esker. Paidnice fits a distributor that wants late fees, statements and reminders set per trade group, from $69 a month on Xero and QuickBooks Online, or Custom from $999 a month on an ERP, quoted for your setup. The others are grouped by revenue band and compared on payment fees, ERP and price.

In short

  • Billtrust is quote-only. Buyers report $20,000 to $60,000 a year, often above $75,000 at enterprise volume, plus payment processing fees (ERP Research).
  • Three alternatives publish payment processing rates: BILL, Upflow (Upflow Payments add-on) and Versapay (NetSuite Pay). Gaviti offers ACH at zero fee to the buyer.
  • Two alternatives raise late fees themselves: Paidnice, per customer group, and Invoiced, with one rule.
  • Billtrust’s invoice delivery to more than 260 AP portals and its digital lockbox have no like-for-like replacement on this page.

What is Billtrust?

Billtrust is a US order-to-cash platform for B2B suppliers, covering invoice delivery, B2B payments, credit, collections and cash application.

It delivers invoices by email, print and mail, and into more than 260 buyer AP portals, and supports e-invoicing including Peppol through Order2Cash. On payments it runs a digital lockbox and, per Viewpoint Analysis, accepts virtual cards through the Billtrust Business Payments Network. Billtrust says its cash application reaches "95%+ match rates".

Its named customers include Saint-Gobain, Staples and United Rentals. Viewpoint Analysis describes a strong following among North American distributors, wholesalers and manufacturers.

Why do distributors look for a Billtrust alternative?

Distributors usually leave Billtrust over the total cost, the processing fees on top of it, or a team too small to use the full suite.

  • Price. No published rate card. ERP Research reports $20,000 to $60,000 a year, rising with invoice volume, and full deployments often need several licensed modules (Viewpoint Analysis).
  • Processing fees. Card and ACH fees sit on top of the subscription and are not published.
  • ERP documentation. Billtrust’s home page names "200+ connectors" but no ERP. NetSuite, SAP and Dynamics connectors are described by third parties.
  • Late fees. No late fee or interest feature appears on the Billtrust pages reviewed, so a distributor that charges interest on trade accounts does it in the ERP.
  • Scale. A distributor under $10m revenue rarely needs AP portal delivery or a lockbox, and pays for both.

How do ERP, late fees and price compare?

Billtrust names no ERP on its own home page; eight of the nine alternatives name NetSuite on theirs.

1. Paidnice, best for trade-group late fees

Best for: a distributor or wholesaler that wants a different reminder, statement and late fee rule for each trade group, on Xero, QuickBooks Online or an ERP.

Paidnice NetSuite page showing a NetSuite invoice with a reminder, statement, drafted late fee and a PO added by AI
Paidnice NetSuite page
  • Revenue band: any size. On Xero and QuickBooks Online it is self-serve; on an ERP the Custom plan has no plan limits and is never priced by revenue.
  • Entry cost: $69 a month on Essentials (£49 in the UK) for Xero and QuickBooks Online. Custom from $999 a month (£749 in the UK), quoted for your setup, for NetSuite, Business Central, Sage Intacct and other ERPs.
  • ERP connection: NetSuite with two-way sync, custom fields and OneWorld, Business Central, Sage Intacct and any cloud ERP, through a custom implementation set up by an implementation specialist.
  • Rated: not applicable.

Paidnice sets policies per customer group, so a buying group, a national account and a cash customer each run their own reminders, statements and fees. Late fees and interest post into the ledger as invoices. Statements can consolidate parent and child accounts, and a credit limit per customer can raise an escalation when it is breached.

Paidnice uses AI to read customer replies and remittance advice, logs payment dates against the invoices, and drafts answers for a person to approve. On Xero and QuickBooks Online, buyers pay by card or ACH in the Paidnice portal and the payment is recorded against the invoice. Payment plans and early payment discounts are live on Xero, QuickBooks Online and NetSuite.

Limitation: Paidnice takes card and ACH through your connected payment provider instead of its own payment network. It is not listed on SuiteApp.com or AppSource and has no Built for NetSuite badge.

2. BILL, best for small sellers taking ACH

Best for: a small supplier on QuickBooks or Xero that wants invoicing, card and ACH acceptance and its AP in one product at a per-user price.

BILL pricing page
  • Revenue band: small and mid-sized businesses; ERPs only on Enterprise.
  • Entry cost: $49, $65 or $89 per user a month; Enterprise is custom (BILL pricing page). Receiver fees: ACH $0.59, card 2.9%, instant transfer 1.25%.
  • ERP connection: Essentials syncs QuickBooks and Xero by CSV only; Team and Corporate add two-way sync. NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Dynamics and Acumatica need the custom Enterprise plan.
  • Rated: 4.4 from about 1,800 on G2.

BILL sends invoices by email or US mail, takes card and ACH, runs auto-charge and auto-pay, and added Payment Links in May 2026. G2 and AlternativeTo both name BILL as the top Billtrust alternative.

Limitation: reminders are capped at 3 templates for the whole company, and BILL has no statements, payment plans or late fees.

3. Versapay, best for NetSuite Pay and portal

Best for: a North American mid-market distributor on NetSuite, Sage Intacct or Dynamics 365 that wants buyers to dispute and pay invoices in a shared portal.

Versapay homepage
  • Revenue band: mid-market B2B, with manufacturing, wholesale distribution and professional services pages.
  • Entry cost: quote only. ERP Research estimates $50,000 to $150,000+ a year by invoice volume, with processing fees on top.
  • ERP connection: native NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Business Central and Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management; other ERPs by open API or flat file. No Xero, QuickBooks Online or SAP.
  • Rated: 4.4 from 29 on Capterra; 4.1 from 95 on G2 (search snippet).

Versapay powers NetSuite Pay, Oracle’s card and ACH product for the US and Canada, at $200 a month plus 2.9% and 30 cents per card payment and 0.35% and 30 cents per ACH payment, capped at $8. See Versapay vs Billtrust and the best Versapay alternatives.

Limitation: no published AR price, and no late fee feature was found on the pages reviewed.

4. Upflow, best for published payment fees

Best for: a mid-market B2B team that wants collections analytics and a payment portal with card, ACH and SEPA rates printed on the pricing page.

Upflow homepage headline, AI-powered AR insights for stronger financial relationships, beside sample DSO, autopay and invoice cards
Upflow homepage
  • Revenue band: quoted by gross invoice value, from up to $10m on Starter to above $100m.
  • Entry cost: Upflow’s last published prices were $440 a month for Grow and $880 for Scale; current prices are hidden (Upflow pricing page). Upflow Payments costs $390 a month plus card and ACH fees.
  • ERP connection: Xero and QuickBooks Online on Starter; NetSuite and Sage Intacct from Grow, with real-time bi-directional NetSuite sync and OneWorld support.
  • Rated: 4.8 from 231 on G2 (search snippet).

Upflow measures DSO against best possible DSO and collection effectiveness, and its Cash Application Agent sits on Accelerate and above. See Upflow pricing.

Limitation: no native late fees, and no Business Central or SAP connection today.

5. Quadient AR, best for remittance matching

Best for: a distribution group on NetSuite, Sage Intacct or SAP whose bottleneck is matching remittances to open invoices.

Quadient homepage headline, make every connection count, over a photo of people talking in an office
Quadient AR homepage
  • Revenue band: mid-market to enterprise; most G2 reviewers work at companies of 51 to 1,000 employees.
  • Entry cost: quote only. Capterra lists a starting price of $500 a month, priced per feature by invoice volume.
  • ERP connection: NetSuite (SuiteApp), Sage Intacct, Sage 300 and X3, Dynamics, SAP including Business One, Acumatica, Xero and QuickBooks.
  • Rated: 4.5 from 33 on Capterra.

Quadient AR, formerly YayPay, adds payment-date prediction, credit applications, scorecards and a customer portal. Automatic push of cash application results into the ERP is off by default and covers NetSuite and Sage Intacct.

Limitation: the portal cannot split one invoice into installments, and the team works from one shared AR mailbox.

6. Gaviti, best for a zero-fee ACH portal

Best for: a mid-market supplier or shared-service center that wants buyers to pay by ACH without a fee, with collections and cash application in the same tool.

  • Revenue band: mid-market and enterprise; no revenue floor stated.
  • Entry cost: quote only, "tailored pricing based on your usage, not per user", with unlimited users (Gaviti pricing page).
  • ERP connection: Xero, QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Dynamics 365, SAP and Oracle, all named on Gaviti’s homepage.
  • Rated: 4.5 from 91 on Capterra.

Gaviti covers credit management, disputes, invoice distribution and cash application, which it says is "90% completed automatically".

Limitation: no published price and no late fee feature found.

7. Invoiced, best for billing with late fees

Best for: a mid-market supplier that wants invoicing, collections, a payment portal and one native late fee rule in one platform.

Invoiced by Flywire homepage headline, get paid faster with AI-native accounts receivable automation
Invoiced homepage
  • Revenue band: mid-market to enterprise, multi-entity or international.
  • Entry cost: quote only. Capterra lists a custom quote billed per user per month; ERP Research reports "from about $299 a month".
  • ERP connection: NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Dynamics 365 and Workday as native integrations; QuickBooks and Xero as standard; SAP, Epicor and Infor for enterprise.
  • Rated: 4.7 from 149 on Capterra.

Invoiced, part of Flywire since August 2024, adds cash application (CashMatch), disputes and a late fee with a flat or percentage amount, a grace period and a per-invoice toggle. See Invoiced vs Tesorio.

Limitation: no published price or processing rates, and no free trial is listed on Capterra.

8. HighRadius, best for deductions at scale

Best for: a large manufacturer or distributor with high deduction volumes, complex credit and cash application across SAP, Oracle or Dynamics.

HighRadius homepage
  • Revenue band: enterprise and upper mid-market, more than 1,500 clients.
  • Entry cost: quote only. An outcome-based option charges $0 implementation and $0 subscription until go-live, then "a fraction of the actual savings" (HighRadius press release). ERP Research estimates $50,000 to $150,000+ a year.
  • ERP connection: "50+ pre-built integrations including SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, and NetSuite".
  • Rated: 4.4 from 13 on Capterra.

HighRadius covers collections, cash application, deduction management, credit, e-invoicing and treasury. See HighRadius vs Billtrust and the best HighRadius alternatives.

What do you lose when you leave Billtrust?

Two Billtrust services have no like-for-like replacement on this page: invoice delivery into more than 260 AP portals and the digital lockbox.

  • AP portal delivery. If your largest buyers require invoices in Coupa, Ariba or similar portals, confirm how each alternative handles them before you sign, or keep that delivery step manually in-house.
  • Lockbox. Set up a bank lockbox before you switch, and test each alternative’s cash application against your bank’s remittance file.
  • Virtual cards. Billtrust accepts virtual cards through its payments network. BILL, Versapay and Upflow publish card rates; the others quote them.
  • Late fees. We found none on the Billtrust pages reviewed. Paidnice and Invoiced raise them.
