Business Central credit control software cost (2026): UK prices compared

Published UK prices for credit control tools that work with Dynamics 365 Business Central, how each one charges, and what three example companies pay once the Microsoft licence is added.

Credit control software for Business Central costs from nothing for a free task app to about £900 a month for a full SaaS platform, plus the Microsoft licence. ASQiT’s Basic app is free, Credit Hound is £131 a month for one user, and Chaser charges £199, £599 or £899 a month by turnover band.

In short

  • ASQiT Credit Control (Basic) is free on Business Central online. Its page lists credit controller assignment, credit comments and credit contacts, and no reminder sending.
  • Credit Hound’s Business Central edition is £131 a month for one user with unlimited companies, or a £2,500 licence plus £500 a year.
  • Chaser publishes £199, £599 and £899 a month by turnover band. Kolleno lists Business Central on its Enterprise plan only, at a custom price.
  • The Microsoft licence is extra: Essentials is £61.50 per user a month ex VAT, paid yearly.

Your credit controller keeps a list of overdue customers in an Excel sheet next to Business Central. You search AppSource and find one app that is free and another that asks for a quote, and you cannot tell which one sends the reminders.

How much does credit control software for Business Central cost?

Credit control software for Business Central costs from £0 for a task-only app to about £900 a month for a SaaS platform, before the Microsoft licence. The free end tracks who chases whom. The paid end sends the reminders, records replies and reports on overdue debt.

Business Central (BC) already sends reminders and finance charges without an add-on. Reminder terms have levels, fees and interest, and Reminder Automation can create, issue and send them on a schedule through the job queue. The native channels are email and print. A dedicated tool adds what the base product leaves out, such as SMS, a customer portal or chase sequences per customer.

What does each credit control tool cost?

Prices are list prices on each vendor’s page, per month unless stated. Chaser, Credit Hound and ASQiT do not say whether their prices include VAT. Check current pricing with each vendor before you budget.

Chaser

Compact (£199 a month) covers turnover under £4m and 4 users. Core is £599 for turnover under £10m and Complete is £899 for under £100m; above that the price is custom. Multi-entity support is in Core and Complete, not Compact. Chaser offers a 10-day free trial on request: you submit a signup form and Chaser provisions the account.

Credit Hound

The Business Central row covers one user and unlimited companies. An extra full user is £56 a month (£1,000 licence plus £210 a year), and a reports-only user is £31 a month (£550 plus £116 a year). Set-up, training and support are priced on application.

ASQiT

ASQiT Credit Control (Basic) is free to download and install with no registration. ASQiT sells further overdue debt apps, such as payment plans, bad debt management and credit controller tasks, but its product page shows no price for them.

Kolleno

Its two lower plans list Xero as the integration. NetSuite, Business Central, SAP and Oracle Fusion appear on Enterprise, which needs at least 3 users and turnover of £100m to £1bn. See Kolleno pricing for the per-user plans.

How do these tools charge?

Each tool uses a different meter, so the same company can land at very different prices. Compare on your own user count, turnover and number of BC companies.

MeterToolWhat raises the price
Company turnoverChaserMoving into a higher turnover band, or needing multi-entity
Per userCredit HoundEach extra full or reports-only user
FreeASQiT BasicNothing; further ASQiT apps are sold separately
Per user, customKollenoUsers above the 3-user minimum and the plan

Is there a charge per Business Central company?

Some vendors charge per Business Central company and some do not. Credit Hound’s Business Central edition includes unlimited companies, so a second or third company adds nothing. Chaser keeps multi-entity support to Core and Complete, so a group with more than one BC company starts at £599 a month. Kolleno lists multiple entities on Enterprise.

In BC itself, reminder terms, finance charge terms and customer records sit inside each company. One customer that buys from two of your companies has two records and two reminder runs.

What does a free credit control app leave out?

A free app records the credit control work; it does not chase. ASQiT’s page lists three things for Credit Control (Basic): a credit controller assigned to each customer, credit comments at customer and invoice level, and credit contact details per customer. It also links the other ASQiT overdue debt apps together.

The page lists no reminder sending, so reminders still come from BC’s own Reminder Automation. That means email or print, one reminder term per customer, and no reminder before the due date in the standard design. If you need SMS, a payment portal or pre-due reminders, budget for a paid tool.

Do I need extra Business Central licences?

You need a BC licence for each person who works inside Business Central. Microsoft’s UK prices are £61.50 per user a month for Essentials, £84.60 for Premium and £6.20 for Team Members, ex VAT, paid yearly. See Business Central licence types for what each tier allows.

Microsoft sets the tier by the modules you use: Premium adds production orders and service orders. A credit control tool does not appear in the Premium list. Team Members can read data, approve and make limited updates, so ask your partner whether your credit controller needs a full Essentials licence for the work they do in BC.

What will my partner charge?

Partners do not publish a fixed fee for installing a credit control extension, so expect a quote. ERP Research, a third-party site, lists UK day rates of £800 to £1,200 for a functional consultant and £900 to £1,400 for an AL developer. Our Business Central implementation cost guide has rates by role.

AppSource apps must stay compatible with each BC update. Microsoft can uninstall an app that blocks an update, so ask who keeps the extension current and what that costs each year.

What does it cost in total? Three examples

The totals below add Microsoft’s Essentials price to each tool’s published price for three example UK companies. Turnover sets Chaser’s band and Kolleno’s eligibility, so each example states it.

Example companyBC licence (Essentials)+ ASQiT Basic+ Credit Hound+ Chaser+ Kolleno
5 BC users, 1 company, 1 credit controller, £3m turnover£307.50£307.50£438.50 (1 user)£506.50 (Compact)Not offered at this turnover
15 BC users, 2 companies, 2 credit controllers, £8m turnover£922.50£922.50£1,109.50 (2 users)£1,521.50 (Core)Not offered at this turnover
40 BC users, 4 companies, 3 credit controllers, £40m turnover£2,460£2,460£2,703 (3 users)£3,359 (Complete)Not offered at this turnover

Formula: BC users × £61.50, plus the tool’s monthly list price. Credit Hound = £131 for the first user plus £56 for each extra full user. Chaser uses the monthly price for the turnover band, and Core or Complete where there is more than one company. Quoted plans have no published total and are left out. All figures exclude partner fees and set-up.

What are the alternatives for Business Central credit control?

There are three routes. Run BC’s own Reminder Automation and add a free task app such as ASQiT Basic. Add licensed software such as Credit Hound, priced per user. Or connect a SaaS platform such as Chaser, priced by turnover, or a quoted tool on a custom plan.

For a mid-sized UK group with several BC companies, the turnover bands and multi-entity rules matter more than the entry price. Compare Chaser pricing and the best Chaser alternatives before booking demos, and see the best credit control software for UK businesses for a wider list.

How do I compare quotes?

Ask every vendor the same six questions in writing, so that the quotes can be compared on the same basis:

  • Which plan includes the Business Central connection, and what does it cost a month?
  • Is there a charge per BC company, per user or by turnover?
  • Who installs the connection, and are set-up, training and support extra?
  • Which BC licence does each credit controller need?
  • Who keeps the app working after each Microsoft update?
  • Are the prices inclusive or exclusive of VAT?

Common questions

How much does credit control software for Business Central cost?

It runs from free for ASQiT’s Basic app to about £900 a month for Chaser’s Complete plan, before the Microsoft licence. Credit Hound sits between, at £131 a month for one user with unlimited companies.

Is there a free credit control app for Business Central?

Yes. ASQiT Credit Control (Basic) is free on Business Central online. It assigns credit controllers, holds credit comments and stores credit contacts. Its page lists no reminder sending, so reminders still run through BC’s own Reminder Automation.

How much does Credit Hound cost for Business Central?

Credit Hound’s Business Central edition is £131 a month for one user and unlimited companies, or a £2,500 licence plus £500 a year. Some AI answers quote £39 to £99 a month; the £39 figure is the Sage Marketplace price for a Sage edition, not the Business Central one.

How much does Chaser cost with Business Central?

Chaser costs £199, £599 or £899 a month by turnover band, or £179, £539 or £809 a month billed yearly. Business Central is on its integrations list, but the pricing page does not say which plan includes it, so confirm the plan with Chaser.

Does a credit control app need a Premium licence?

Not for credit control alone. Microsoft’s Premium tier adds production orders and service orders, and Essentials covers finance. Each person who works inside BC still needs a licence, so check which one your credit controller needs with your partner.

Is there a charge per company?

It depends on the vendor. Credit Hound includes unlimited companies on its Business Central edition. Chaser puts multi-entity support on Core and Complete, from £599 a month. Kolleno lists multiple entities on Enterprise only.

How much does Dynamics 365 Business Central cost?

In the UK, Business Central Essentials costs £61.50 per user a month, Premium £84.60 and Team Members £6.20, ex VAT, paid yearly. In the US the same licences cost $80, $110 and $8. See Business Central pricing for the full table.

What are the alternatives for Business Central?

The main routes are BC’s own reminders with a free app such as ASQiT Basic, licensed software such as Credit Hound at £131 a month, or a SaaS platform such as Chaser from £199 a month. Kolleno covers Business Central on Enterprise for companies with £100m or more in turnover.
