Chaser vs Satago in 2026

Two UK credit control tools compared on the points that separate them: what each costs, how each one chases, where the credit data comes from, and which one lends against invoices.

Chaser fits a business with a credit control team that wants email, SMS, letters and calls, Creditsafe checks and statutory interest, from £199 a month. Satago fits a smaller business that wants credit reports and chasing at a lower price, from £45 a month, with optional invoice finance.

Which one fits your business?

Which one fits

  • Choose Chaser if you have a credit controller or a team, you want letters and automated calls as well as email and SMS, and you want statutory interest added to overdue invoices. Chaser also fits businesses on NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics or the Sage range.
  • Choose Satago if you are a smaller UK business that wants credit reports and automated chasing for under £100 a month, or you may want to borrow against your invoices from the same provider.

How much do Chaser and Satago cost?

Satago costs £45 a month on Basic, £80 on Premium and £200 on Platinum, or £450, £800 and £2,000 billed yearly. Chaser costs £199 a month on Compact for revenue under £4m, £599 on Core under £10m and £899 on Complete under £100m, about 10% less billed yearly. Satago’s top tier costs about the same as Chaser’s entry tier.

Which has better credit data?

The two take different approaches. Chaser runs credit checks and monitoring through Creditsafe, a named credit bureau. Satago gives each customer a credit score, a risk band and a suggested credit limit, and includes a set number of full credit reports on each tier. Satago’s pricing page does not name the bureau behind its reports. A business that sells on credit to many new customers gets more reports per pound from Satago.

Which one chases harder?

Chaser has more channels. It sends email from the controller’s own mailbox, SMS, letters and automated calls, on schedules before and after the due date, and it can add statutory interest under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998. Satago sends email reminders on schedules, adds SMS on Premium and Platinum, and lets you add custom late fees to its schedules.

What if you need invoice finance?

Only Satago offers it. Satago can advance up to 90% of an invoice’s value, on a single invoice or the whole ledger, priced separately from the software. Satago is majority owned by TruFin plc. In July 2024 Lloyds Bank gave notice to end its commercial agreement to offer Satago to Lloyds customers; Satago continues to sell and support its products. A Chaser customer who needs finance uses a separate lender.
