Credit control software for Sage Accounting: which tools connect

Which credit control tools state a Sage Accounting connection on their own pages, how each one works, and what to check before you connect.

Credit control software for Sage Accounting, the cloud product formerly called Sage Business Cloud Accounting, includes Credit Hound at £20 a user a month, Satago, Chaser and Paidnice on its Custom plan. Each reads invoices from Sage Accounting and sends the reminders, statements and charges for you.

Your invoices go out of Sage Accounting, and chasing them means opening each overdue customer and writing an email. A connected credit control tool reads those invoices and sends the reminders for you.

What does a Sage Accounting connection do for credit control?

Sage Accounting is Sage's cloud accounting product for small businesses. It is a different product from Sage 50 and Sage 200, so check that a tool names Sage Accounting itself.

What should you check before connecting Sage Accounting?

Before connecting Sage Accounting to a credit control tool, check four things, because the same word, "integration", covers very different depths of connection.

  • That the tool names Sage Accounting, not only Sage 50 or Sage 200
  • Whether payments recorded in Sage stop the chase
  • Whether late fees post back to Sage
  • The price at your number of users

How this page was put together

This page lists a tool only where its own integration page, help centre or app listing states the Sage Accounting connection; review sites and resellers are not used.

What do buyers ask about this integration?

Do I need a credit control tool with Sage Accounting?

You need one if you want reminder sequences, statements on a schedule or late fees to run on their own. Check Sage's help centre for what Sage Accounting sends by itself, then compare the four tools on this page.

Is Sage Accounting the same as Sage 50?

No. Sage Accounting is Sage's cloud product, and Sage 50 is installed software. Credit control tools often support one and not the other, so check the exact product name on the tool's integrations page.

Which credit control software should I choose?

Choose by ledger first, then by the jobs you need beyond reminders. The best credit control software guide compares six tools on price, late fees and limits.
